Research and Development Centre of Hoisting Machinery and Mechanical Conveying Equipment "Detrans", formely known as the Central Design-Office of Heavy Machine Constructions has started off with its activities in the month of November 1945, as one of the first Central Design-Office in the Polish. "Detrans" is an institution of good traditions as well substantial technical achievements and with in a compass of years has been crystallized the shape of its activities. At present it accomplishes all work concerning the development, design, research and carrying into effect with in the range of underneath stated machines and installations, viz:
- general purpose overhead travelling cranes, vand of special design, the carrying capacity of which amounts up to 320 tons,
- loading and unloading machines of continuous operation for bulk materials,
- essential machines for opencast work, under that wheelexcavators and bucket-wheel reclaimers,
- machines, devices and installations for continuous transportation in a wide range of variants and application purposes,
- mechanisation and organisation of works transport and magazines.
"Detrans" cooperates with Technical High-Schools as well as Research and Scientific Institutes athomeandobroad.
The machines, devices and installations designed and constructed by the office-workers of the institution "Detrans" are operated in all fields of our national economy especially in the following industries:
- mining'industry,
- iron and steel industry, ? chemical industry,
- building material industry,
- sea-harbours and riverports,
- ship-yards,
- transshiping railway stations, opower-plants,
- sugar-mills,
- wood fibre slab plants as well as other factories.
A great number of these machines, within the scheme of the delivery of complete industrial objects or individual supplies are worked in the following countries, viz: Germany, Albania, Bulgaria, Czech Rep., Slovakia, China, Finland, Greece, Ghana, Spain, India, Indonesia, Iran, Irak, Island, Yugoslavia, Cuba, Korean, Mongolian, Maro- cco, Germany, Pakistan, Roumania, Sri Lance, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey, Hungary, Viet-Nam, Russia, Ukraina.
